Guide wall work is a critical preparatory step in the construction of deep foundation elements, such as diaphragm walls or secant pile walls. Guide walls are shallow, reinforced concrete structures built along the planned alignment of the wall to be constructed. They serve as a guide for the excavation machinery, ensuring precise positioning and verticality of the deep excavation. Typically, two parallel guide walls are constructed at ground level, creating a trench-like pathway that directs the drilling or trenching equipment. This method enhances the accuracy and stability of the excavation process, reducing the risk of deviations and ensuring the structural integrity of the final foundation. Guide walls also help in maintaining the alignment of steel reinforcement cages and concrete placement, contributing to the overall quality and safety of the construction project.
